How to make Chinese Style Steamed Fish Recipe- Recipe at a glance:

  • Clean the fish and pat dry.
  • Prepare ingredients for stuffing.
  • Stuff the fish and place in steamer, for steaming.
  • Prepare sauce for pouring and well as tempering ingredients.
  • Pour the sauce over the steamed fish agfter plating.
  • Finally add tempering ingredients to hot oil and pour over the fish.

You might also like:

Ingredients:

  • 700-800 gms whole fish (sea bass is used here)
  • 3-4 Spring Onion Shoots, chopped into 3-inch lengths
  • 3-inch ginger, peeled and cut into coins
  • Small bunch of fresh Coriander, unchopped with roots intact
  • 1 Scant Tbsp Ginger, finely minced
  • 1/2 tsp each Salt and Pepper
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Chinese Cooking wine (Shaoxing) optional
  • 2 Tbsp chopped Spring Onion Greens, 3 tsp julienned ginger, 2 Tbsp oil – For tempering

Sauce:

  • 1 fresh long Red chilli, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp Light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted Sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp White pepper powder
